THE NEXT GENERATION OF BUILDINGS
KOTO is very well placed compared to any other building system on the planet for a ‘Zero Carbon Home’, and Koto can supply it today.
Agree with it or not! Like it or not! Al Gore and the Green Movement are driven by “Global Financial Politics”, directing through global governments and Zero Carbon Homes are coming to a government in your locality.
So what does it mean? It means if you continue with ‘Conventional Construction’ you will not survive – in many countries the game is already over.
Like it or not, Change is Imminent.
Developers, consultants, contractors, architects, engineers and corporations need to start thinking and acting on building ‘Smart Energy Efficient’ buildings soon, otherwise they will find their time is limited if they do not comply with the new standards coming in. The smart ones have commenced already.
You accepted the mobile phone and other telecommunications technology, electronic technology, nano technology and more, but still continue to build as we did 300 years ago? … ‘Brick by Brick, Stick by Stick’.
This method comes with outdated labour intensive issues and problems, excessive waste, slow completion schedules, expensive inferior finished product, defective workmanship, defective waterproofing and the list goes on. The opportunity for change is here now!
Many countries are now introducing either a “Star Rating” or an “Index Rating” (energy efficient points system). This system will give added value to your home which will determine the price – consequently, the greater the Star or Index value, the greater the value of your home. Like it or not – this is where it is heading.
Shortly, in some countries, if you do not have a “rating” you will not be allowed to sell your home. Many buyers know this and will source the developer or contractor who will build green today rather than pay the penalty tomorrow because the developer refused to change.
Today many utility companies globally are struggling to provide sufficient power, as the loads on the national grids are excessive. In some countries you will wait up to one year for power connection. It does not make a lot of sense to construct more power plants that generate additional heat and pollution to our atmosphere. However, it does makes more ecological and economical sense to be energy efficient and sustainable, particularly with our buildings.
The Citi Group for example, is spending USD $15 billion on the global offices they either own or occupy. Bill Clinton has launched another $15 billion global initiative for example to make council buildings energy efficient. Most responsible professional architects are either attending, have attended, or are about to attend seminars to go green and sustainable.
In essence, the news is not all the bad because if we pull together, we can all aid in the repair to some of the destruction to mother earth that we are all responsible for. There are global initiatives to get whole nations to go green and sustainable.
